The Full-service Process

1. Contact Us

We are here to walk you through the process from the very beginning.  If you are just beginning to consider purchasing a website, give us a call so we can guide you along the way.

2.  Organize Your Information

You’ll want to start by getting all of your ideas and information on paper (or screen) and organizing them into an outline of what info you want to appear on each page of your website.  We provide a content guide you can use to make this process easier for you.  Unlike some companies, we do not require you to enter your information online to create your website.  You can put it all in an email, a Word document, or even write it on a legal pad.  How you get your information to us is up to you.

3.  Browse for Inspiration

After you have your information ready, we will be better prepared to create the best design layout for your content.  We’ll ask you to spend some time surfing the web to find designs you like and designs you don’t.  We’ll also ask you to describe the feel you want your website to have.  Do you want it to be clean, simple, ornate, loud, understated, edgy, grungy?  You will also have complete freedom to choose exact colors you want to use.  You can go with a neutral background and just use accent colors, or you can use vivid color as a main backdrop.  There is no limit to the way we can apply color to your site.  The main thing to focus on at first is the feelings your colors will invoke in the viewer.  We will also take your color choices and apply them to our color wheel to combine the shades of colors that work best together.

4.  Extra Features

At this point, you will have your info prepared, an idea about the design and color scheme you want, and it will be time to determine your domain name (if you don’t already have one) and any extras you want to add.  The Basic Full-service Package is ideal for small businesses wanting to establish a custom-designed web presence without incurring large costs up front.  However if you plan to update your site frequently and feel comfortable using online forms to do so, you may want to add a blog or content management system to your site to save on your long-term costs.  We are here to assist you in determining the extra features that will best meet your needs.

5.  Design Comps

Once we receive your content, (complete with any and all photos, logos, etc. you desire to use), your inspiration results, and your first payment, we will be ready to get started designing your site.  After discussing your ideas with you and maybe even sketching some on paper together, we will mock-up two compositions (comps) for you to choose from showing two design variations.  You may choose one of those comps, and you will then have two design tokens to use in exchange for adjustments to the design.  Any additional adjustments will require the purchase of additional design tokens, priced at 3 for $95. Should you desire another comp altogether, it will cost an additional $200 for each different comp, including two additional design tokens for design adjustments.  Once you approve the comp, we will begin building your site.

6.  We Make Your Website

A Full-service Web Solution with no additional features usually takes between three and six weeks to build, depending on the complexity and additional features chosen.  A time and cost estimate will be given up front with no guarantees.

7.  Final Payment and Go Live

With Full-service Web Solutions, payment is broken into three parts.  A non-refundable deposit of one third the estimated cost is required for website design to begin.  Halfway through the project the cost estimate is re-evaluated based on the actual scope of the project, and half of the balance is due before continuing.  The remaining balance is calculated according to the entire scope of the project and is due upon completion of the project.  In some cases, the final balance could be less than originally estimated.  Final payments not made within two weeks will result in the site being taken offline.  Reinstating the website will incur a $250 charge.

8.  Software Training and Follow-up

If you purchase any additional feature for your website that enables you to maintain your content, photos, etc., we will train you on the software prior to giving you full control.  Most training sessions can be accomplished in about 30 minutes, but we allow for one hour.  Any additional training needed will require pre-purchased Site Maintenance tokens.

We will also follow-up with you within a few weeks of launching your site to ensure your satisfaction with your site.  We take pride in making sure our websites look as intended on many types of browsers and computers.  However, we can not guarantee that any particular browser will display the site correctly, and certainly not identically.  If anything is not functioning properly, we will certainly take care of that free of charge.  However any updates to the content or any tweaks to the design will require Site Maintenance tokens.
