Heather McKelvey, Founder and Executive Director
A born-and-raised southern girl, Heather earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Administration from Louisiana Tech University. After three years of working in the medical records field, she knew she was destined for a different future. Having made the decision to stay home with her children, Heather needed a way to continue to challenge herself outside the realm of housekeeping and child-rearing duties. She taught herself to design and code websites and quickly found herself earning a small income during the wee hours of the morning.
Heather became passionate about building standards-based websites with a focus on accessibility and hospitality. Since 2004, she has been refining her vision for a small web design company that meets a need in the web community not being met--the need for beautiful, yet affordable websites for small businesses and individuals served up with personal, small-town service. The DigiFix is the beginning result of many months and years of dreaming, thinking, planning, and revising.
When Heather is not playing with children or working at the computer, which isn’t very often, you might find her knitting, sewing, reading action or mystery novels, playing the piano, or teaching her children Spanish. If you want to know what’s on her iPod, you’ll have to go digging for it.
Bill McKelvey, Director of Finance
Bill graduated from Clemson University in his home state of South Carolina. After earning an Associate’s Degree in Machine Tool Technology from Greenville Tech and his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management from Clemson, Bill went into the golf business on Hilton Head Island, SC as an Assistant Golf Professional. Not too long after that he felt God leading him to get involved in the ministry, and he became a youth director there on the island. Little did he know, he would meet Heather one summer and then find himself hauling off to Fort Worth, Texas where he earned a Master’s Degree in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Bill and Heather moved to Altus, Oklahoma in 2003 upon Bill’s seminary graduation to serve as the Business Administrator for First Baptist Church. Bill is still in this role today, and his financial and management expertise now benefit both the church and The DigiFix. Having both grown up in families of entrepreneurs, Bill and Heather have always wondered what would be their business start-up of choice. Although Bill is an experienced photographer, welder, mechanic, carpenter and golfer, his present calling is to serve God through the local church ministry. Since Heather has founded The DigiFix, it has become the natural choice for Bill to assist in the business operations as needed.
